And while the 300 Norma is great on paper and on target..it’s still not the best in class..the 300 lapua smokes it in every way.The 300 PRC offers a higher BC as compared to the .338 Lapua, making it a better choice for longer range shots. The higher BC bullets will give you better downrange accuracy and lower wind drift. Additionally, the 300 PRC has a flat trajectory and can build up more velocity than the .338 Lapua.

With short light huning bullets the 338 Norma gives the least range and energy,, but with 300 grain VLD bullets and a 3.6" magazine limiation I consider the 338 Norma the best of the three. I chose the 338 Norma Mag over the 338 Lapua as it too suffers if restricted to a 3.6" magazine, though not as much as the 338 RUM or 338-378Wby.

The 300 is 10" less wind for a full value 10 mph wind. Drop is a win for the 300 with 129" less drop. The both go subsonic in the 1900 range so thats a wash but even there the 338 only hold about the same 120-150 energy lead all others in the 300 favor. But with that said as a hunting rifle I really like the 338NM.
