Well.... as far as I know, in order to get an OD trans you're limited to a Gear Vendors aux transmission or a NV-4500 and kit from Advanced Adaptors. The gear vendors unit is around $1800.00 and just the adaptor kit from AA is ~$700.00 plus the cost of a NV4500.I bought a ZF core transmission at a wrecking yard for $275.00. It was out of a 89 7.3L. I then switched the housings ( a little tricky but not bad). The problem was in 88 ford switched to a dual mass fly wheel and dampered clutch ( if you don't have it you get excesssive gear noise). 88 is when they started using the ZF 5 speed.Jan 21, 2010 · 93 7.3L idiTurbo, LWB, 2WD, Crew Cab,ZF5, 4.56RearEnd.
