It's probably not a fair comparison either as it's compact vs sub-compact and the longer barrel of the compact should...It's unfortunate, as I thought that would have been a fairer comparison against the 6 round Shield. So here are my impressions. As far as recoil, the XD-S had less muzzle flip, for me, than the Shield. A reliable SUBcompact .45. It's closer in size to a Glock 26 than a Glock 30.
