I'm going to purchase an Ariens Platinum 24 SHO EFI, and I have the option of last year's model which has been discontinued (921053) for $1899, or the "Great Lakes" limited edition that is new for this year (921066) for $2199. The Ariens website doesn't show the new model yet.This is the model Ariens updated with Chinese engine and a few other very minor mods to make the X-over. It is normal for a drop of oil to leak out from the sides of the gear case, where the shafts come out. That would help lubricate the auger shafts as well. Prefer the metal vs plastic components on the Ariens, but the gravel did a job on my metal Simplicity chute. Seems to be a lot of plastic and features to go wrong on the Toro.
