Browning a5 problems.
As was mentioned above, there's rarely a reason to totally disassemble an auto-5. It's easy to take the stock off to get to the return spring, and trigger assembly out, and barrel off, and recoil spring assembly. You just need a good set of screwdrivers to keep from buggering up the screw heads.

The Owners Manual say all 3 1/2” chambered guns will cycle all 2 3/4” shells so long as they are at least 1 1/8oz. Maybe you need to go to a faster shell. Converting just the barrel is possible, but I wouldn't.

My plan was to replace the latch assembly to see if that fixes the issue.

I first noticed it at the trap range in July. My gun was not locking back after shooting Browning Dove&Clay loads. Sometimes the bolt would slam back and bite the brass head of the shell in the receiver. I had bought 250 rounds of it. 225 gave me issues at the trap range or dove fields in September.First, grip the gun firmly, that can make a big difference on marginal recoil loads. Lubing the mag tube will help, polishing it may do the trick. Polish the chamber with some 0000 steel wool wrapped around a bore brush and an electric drill. These 2 things will probably cure the problem.

Feb 7, 2009 · Browning A5 ejector issue. I have a light 12 that is having some problems with ejection. Once I take the a5 out I can run about 25 shells through it with no problems. After this usually it fails to eject about every two shots, then gets to the point where every shot fails and you have to eject the shells manually.
