Aug 23, 2020 · Specifically, the TV seems to cut off sound automatically when it gets too quiet. I first noticed it when playing Last of Us 2 with an HDMI-ARC soundbar. It was a very quiet scene with just ambient background noise, but it was clear that the audio kept cutting out unless I intentionally walked around to make footstep sounds.The receiver normally shows what audio mode I'm using (ie dolby pro II, etc..) but during the cut out it shows pcm 48 then resumes playing. The receiver is a Sony str-dh500. I have been having an issue where where when I watch certain content on the YouTube and Twitch apps, audio cuts out randomly for about 1-2 seconds every 30 seconds or so. It is incredibly frustrating and beyond annoying. I had to run the firmware update using the USB method and then factory rest my bar just to get the setup to work.
