After removing the detent and spring, tilt the safety lever up to about 45 degrees, and it will slip out of it's slot.

First post so bear with me, I was previously a glock guy 😉 So I just finished installing my p365 FCU with Manual Safety into My P365 XL Grip.You may have to lift the slide catch to rotate the TDL to 7 o'clock. When the TDL is rotated to 7 o'clock, the takedown safety lever is moved rearward, which lowers the sear, so the slide can be removed. Your sear is in the normal position and not lowered, causing interference with the slide. It ended up being the takedown lever disconnect.Yes, the Sig Guy video should get you back on track. I just want to add that the take down lever should be rotated back to horizontal before you pull the FCU out of the grip. It should hold everything in position that way.
