Player is freely able to choose mercenaries over story companions, like in Varnhold. Though a reasonable limit should be preserved. Ie. if you can only have 3 story companions, you should get to hire 3 mercenaries. Again like in Varnhold. Custom companions could have some sort of behaviour pattern based on alignment.
