This is called the "Olympic Village" because these (now) residential condos were the dorms for the olympic athletes during the winter games held in Vancouver a while back. I found little to tell us about the history of the area, which is a pity. However, unless you are very athletic, you want a stop or two as you wend your way around False Creek.The dog park at Hing Park is a fully-fenced off-leash enclosure located next to the waterfront at the west end of Olympic Village. While the fenced area is quite small it is also very popular so a great place to socialize your dog. There are benches inside the park as well as drinking water for dogs and there are separate small and large dog areas.The Vancouver Olympic Village planning committee created a design to act as a model for sustainable development based on sustainable, economic and environmental principles. Throughout the games, the Olympic Village housed 2,800 athletes (KD Engineering, 2018).
