If you have engine braking in low gear, but no reverse, then there is an issue with the reverse input drum. Nothing in the valve body, other than the manual valve itself, will cause a no reverse issue. Like.

Yes we did and right no forward movement in any of those positions. You likely have a low roller clutch issue. If your input sprag failed but low roller and coast clutch pack was functioning, you'd have movement in manual low and 2 but nothing else. 4l60e overdrive shudder. So, I recently replaced my old worn out 5.0 in my 1993 K1500. In doing this I "upgraded" to a 5.7 and replaced all of the contributing parts that I could find would be connected in some way to this upgrade. I have changed out the ECM to one out of a 1993 K1500 that had the 5.7 and 4l60e just as my truck does now.
The symptoms are as follows. Fire the rig up run down the road get one full cycle of shifts including o.d. with converter lock up. After about 30 seconds in o.d. truck drops to 3rd and remains there. For the remainder of that key cycle I have manual 2nd 3rd and reverse aka limp mode. If I pull over shut the truck off for a good 5 min.

I checked line pressure in in park and drive line pressure is between 55 and 200 psi. 55 at iddle and 200 psi at WOT. Trans shifts and feels fine in all forward gears. Line pressure in reverse was 65 to 70 psi at idle.
