In the Witcher 3, the world is plagued with something the mod author likes to call "levelitis". This issue will result in your immersion being broken because you can potentially encounter a Drowner that is stronger than a Gryffin simply because it exists in a higher level area. Never considered doing Keira's quest during the search for allies against the hunt. Makes sense from a story perspective, not so much gameplay-wise though as those are pretty low level. I would also argue Geralt would actually be willing to delay the search for Ciri to squeeze in at least a few contracts along the way.
