I can still switch the Litter Robot on and off via the app but I can't do anything else. I changed the old DFI sensor in April 2020 to the newer version because the old IR one stopped working. The new sensor came as part of the Connect upgrade kit which I purchased. The LR has been working flawlessly for the past 8 months or so.I'd say still related to the same situation, buil-up or something else stuck by the edge that teiggers those sensors once reaching the top of the ring. Try this, remove globe and look for something/clean the edge, still removed, do the same on the inside edge of the ring. Take your chances inspecting and cleaning the globe compartment as well.And don’t forget, sometimes when cats are having their toilet time, the litter box can start cleaning itself while the cats still in.
