Also wanted to add that I've been testing on the easy@home cheapies and haven't got a dye stealer either - when I got two tests at 18 and 19 dpo where the line was as dark as the control, I stopped. I think the cheaper tests make it harder to get a dye stealer and in any case, it's a somewhat arbitrary 'measurement'. anybody ever had a dye stealer on the Walmart cheapies?!I'm 5 weeks and I still don't have one. but I'm starting to think these just aren't gonna do it. but I don't want to spend the money on a first response and probably won't buy anymore tests . but I'm just curious!
Its when the test line is darker than the control line. It's stealing all the dye. People sometimes regard this as a reflection of high hormone levels and stop testing. You are way too far along to be taking pregnancy tests at this stage. They are not designed for this. At 6/7 weeks your hCG levels will be in the 1000s or 10000s, these tests are designed to measure from 10 or 25. Think about it.
