993, 441, and 882 castings - HELP PLEASE!!! Post by MDH06 » Sun Jan 06, 2008 12:49 am I have to choose some heads before MONDAY My choices are some 993, 441, and 882 casting SBC heads(all the same price and valve size).

Feb 15, 2008 · The 041's have 1.94 intakes and 1.50 exhausts and 64 cc chambers with a fresh 3 angle valve job. They should give a 10.0 compression ratio with a .015 " head gasket. The 882's have 2.02 intakes and 1.60 exhausts. The chamber size is 76cc. They are pocket ported on the exhaust side and have a fresh 3 angle valve job.Here are the mistakes I know I've made: A) I pulled the engine apart before the system was pressure tested. My garage guy's are some po'd I did this (sorry). B) The heads were not checked for cracks when the valves were ground. C) I used the wrong gasket kit .I used a SBC 350 Felpro set.Here's my input on a MILD street 383 with an honest 400+ HP: TFS 23* heads 64cc chambers. 10.3:1 compression KB -12cc dish pistons (or -18cc pistons for 9.5:1 if you want a cam that is less than 270* on the seat) Performer RPM intake. Reuse your 650 cfm carb.
