I lost spark on my atv yesterday, so I pulled my stator off last night to see if there was any loose connections, I was wondering what would be the right Ohms reading on my multimeter, using the red/black, red and the green wires in the plug from the stator. And also the coil. I have a no spark situation with my 1996 Sportsman 500. I tested the the coil and got some readings that were slightly over what the manual says. The manual shows 0.3 ohms (Primary) and 6.3K ohms (Secondardy) but I got .4 ohms on the Primary and 6.5K on the Secondary.

It seems to me that if the stator was going bad or completely failed, you would have battery charge problems, as the stator (alternator) is what charges and maintains the charge of the battery along with the voltage regulator. I doubt the stator. Likely the coil or CDI.Put your multimeter to AC Volts and start you vehicle. As with the Ohms test, test between each lead of the connector (1-2, 2-3, 3-1) and note the readings.
