At Humanities Kansas, we believe that stories carry our culture and ideas change the world. Since HK's founding as an independent nonprofit in 1972, our organization has pioneered programming and partnerships that share stories to spark conversations -- drawing people together, and generating new ideas in diverse settings across the state. The Heartland Book Festival is a partnership with Missouri Humanities, Kansas City Public Library, and the Missouri Center for the Book. It will be held in downtown Kansas City, Missouri on October 6-7, 2023.
