Any time we would get infected, we played it normal until we were sure, then we took the long walk north to the river.Metal working is nice. You can also use metal bars to make a strong barracade you can see through, however this is much slower.

Some things might be slightly worse, especially while getting used to it. Some things are much easier and feel more natural though, like climbing fences faster or the vehicle radial menus.
