Apotheosis gems
In atm7 there are new apotheosis 'reforge' materials and two new stations. One breaks items down into their rarity materials (ie epic, mythic etc ) while the other uses these materials, and gem dust ( obtained by dropping an anvil on gems) to change the affix of an item, and through that it's stats, effects, and gem slots. For reference - if you come across better gems there is a vial you can craft from gem dust/materials that lets you remove or destroy gems after they’re already socketed, so you can keep upgrading your gear. You can also eventually re-roll your affixes to get better ones once you’ve broken down Mythic Tier gear to get the Godforged Pearls. Apotheosis is a craftable post-Moon Lord developer spell tome. It summons a cosmic portal that releases a mini Devourer of Gods that will swarm an enemy and fire lasers, before disappearing 5 seconds later. The mini-Devourer of Gods inflicts God Slayer Inferno and Whispering Death for 5 seconds.

Apotheosis gem socket not working. I socketed my weapon just fine, but I can't get these to accept gems. I've tried all types of gems, and on multiple armor pieces (with empty sockets) and this is a smithing table. The preview of the armor (the empty box on the right) shows the icon and then disappears right away.

However, when facing against any of the special mobs that are summoned the armor they drop can be socketed but it may appear to be based on the rarity.
