My old eyes are having trouble focusing on the front sight. I can't find a 4X scope that suits me to go on top of that little receiver as I can't find a good compact scope in the 8" range.Last spring bought one of the newer 9422 mags with checkered stock for about $290 (considering what I had in trades). The Baby Redfields look real nice on the M9422. 4X with duplex reticule. Lots of them on Ebay for around $200. Another real nice scope is the VX1 Rimfire Leupold 2X7 variable.The Winchester 9422 LR, also the 9422-M. The Browning SA-22. The Browning was the most accurate. The Marlin & Winchester were close. The Winchester is the better fit & finish. The Marlin will be easier to clean because all you have to do is unscrew the Thumb screw, tap the Receiver and it comes apart.
